Hey there! My name is Brian J. Ward and I'm a socialist activist who profoundly believes we need revolution, not only in this country, but throughout the world from the bottom up. I know it's a huge project but my relentless search and fight for justice is what keeps me going. It's my goal here to give my views on what is going on in the world and how working people and the oppressed are fighting back. Now more than ever in my lifetime, I am seeing fundamental changes starting to happen. These fundamental changes need organizations and movements independent of the two-party corporate system to support them, in order to see true liberation.
The issues that I follow most are indigenous rights, workers rights, racism in America and environmental justice. I see all these issues and more are connected and the problems are rooted in capitalism, which is why I believe we need to overthrow the system and replace it with socialism from below.
I am currently living Washington, DC after a 7 month bike trip around the country with my partner. I have worked on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota as well as worked with Indigenous people in both Guatemala and Peru. I will always be an activist organizing, agitating and helping develop the foundation for a worker's revolution.
